2. Prepare Your Supporting Documentation – Talk to your primary care physician to get your medical records. When you visit one of our clinics, bring a form of government ID and proof of Mississippi residence.
3. Go to Your Consultation – At your consultation, one of our providers will walk you through the process of registering with the state.
4. Apply for Your Card – Once you are registered, we will help you submit the proper paperwork to apply for your medical marijuana card.

In general, evaluations typically take less than 30 minutes, but the duration of your appointment may vary.

The cost of a Mississippi medical marijuana card is $25 paid to the State.

You will need to have a valid form of government ID and proof of Mississippi residency. You should also bring any medical records or supporting documents that detail your qualifying diagnosed condition, including office notes, x-ray reports and other pertinent records.

The following medical conditions or their treatment qualify for participation in the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Program:

• cancer
• Parkinson’s disease
• Huntington’s disease
• muscular dystrophy
• glaucoma
• spastic quadriplegia
• positive status for human
• immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
• acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS)
• hepatitis
• amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
• Crohn’s disease
• ulcerative colitis
• sickle-cell anemia
• Alzheimer’s disease
• agitation of dementia
• post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
• autism
• pain refractory to appropriate opioid
• management
• diabetic/peripheral neuropathy
• spinal cord disease or severe injury

Also qualifying is a chronic, terminal, or debilitating disease or medical condition or its treatment that produces one or more of the following:

• cachexia or wasting syndrome
• chronic pain
• severe or intractable nausea
• seizures
• severe and persistent muscle spasms including, but not limited to, those characteristic of multiple sclerosis

Qualifying patients may use medical marijuana in their homes and on private property.  Check the local ordinances in your city for more details.

Yes, Mississippi has possession and purchase limits based on “Mississippi Medical Cannabis Equivalency Units” (MMCEUs).  As of July 1, 2024, MMCEUs are governed by a 30-day rolling limit.  A 30-day allotment is 24 MMCEUs.

This rolling limit is not based on calendar months or card date, it is based on purchases the past 30 days, counted as sequential 24-hour periods, at the same exact time.

An MMCEU is equivalent to:

• 3.5 grams of flower
• up to 100 mg of THC in infused products
• up to one gram of concentrate

While medical marijuana is legal in Mississippi as of February 2, 2022, it is still illegal federally and cannot be taken across state lines.

Goods that can be smoked, vaporized, consumed (like candies), ingested (like tinctures), applied topically (like patches and lotions), and suppositories that contain tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and/or cannabidiol (CBD) are all approved for use by Mississippi medical card users.

The Mississippi Medical Cannabis Act (MMCA) stipulates that disabled veterans or disabled first responders are exempt from paying the application cost for a qualifying patient Registry ID Card. A disabled veteran or first responder may prove their disability by submitting written confirmation from their doctor attesting to their incapacitating medical condition, documentation from the Social Security Disability Office, or documentation confirming they are a one hundred percent (100%) disabled veteran as determined by the U.S. Veterans Affairs Department. To lower the cost of the application and renewal fees, the MDOH may accept donations from private sources.

As opposed to having zero tolerance for any proven positive drug tests, some companies may choose to be tolerant of workers who have Registry ID cards and receive approved medicinal cannabis treatments.

Additionally, businesses must be aware of the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). What constitutes a “debilitating medical condition” is defined under the MMCA. Many would be considered a serious health condition under the FMLA or a disability under the ADA.

For these reasons, the MCPA highly advises that you discuss their policy on your use of medical cannabis with your employer.
